About me
I am currently an Instructor at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in the Department of Genomics and Computational Biology, where I work with Dr. Zhiping Weng and Dr. William E. Theurkauf. I received my Ph.D. in Computational Biology from Tongji University in 2020 and joined UMass Chan as a postdoctoral fellow in 2021.
My research combines computational genomics, evolutionary biology, and single-cell genomics to understand how transposable elements (TEs) shape genome evolution, gene regulation, and human disease. I develop computational methods and analyze large-scale genomic datasets across evolutionary, population, and cellular scales to investigate the biological functions and evolutionary impact of TEs.
My current research focuses on:
- Genome evolution and gene regulation mediated by TE.
- Mechanisms of TE control in the germline.
- Single-cell genomics of human aging and neurodegenerative diseases.
- Computational methods for TE detection and analysis.
